Investment starts building to CyberAGI with new announcement of fully autonomous CTEM solution
SAFE today announces a successful series C funding round for $70 million – validation from the investment community of our leadership position in cyber risk quantification (CRQ) and our achievement as first to deliver fully autonomous third-party risk management (TPRM) through agentic AI.
The round was led by Avataar Ventures, with participation from Susquehanna Asia Venture Capital, NextEquity Partners, Prosperity7 Ventures, and existing investors including Eight Roads, John Chambers and Sorenson Capital among others. With this round, total funding exceeds $170 million.
The capital will be used to accelerate SAFE’s dominance in the cyber risk management market and fuel continued innovation to build Agentic AI-native reasoning models, moving closer to SAFE’s mission to achieve CyberAGI.
As SAFE CEO Saket Modi explained in a blog post, AGI’s Wild Future Needs a Tamer. Meet CyberAGI, the coming rise of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) will bring super-sophisticated cybersecurity threats – requiring a super-specialized CyberAGI “built to solve the defining problem of the digital age: making companies and individuals unhackable.”
Saket pledged to “take the boldest step in our journey… Today, we elevate the mission of SAFE – We Will Build CyberAGI.”
Next Step in the Journey: Build a Better CTEM
Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) tools now in the marketplace claim to provide risk-based insights. In fact, they rely on proprietary black box scoring models — a “just trust us” approach.
SAFE changes the game. Just as we redefined cyber risk quantification (CRQ) to make risk actionable in business terms, we now bring the same analytical rigor and precision to CTEM. Plus, we’ve supercharged CTEM with dozens of autonomous AI agents. It’s the most transformative upgrade to our Cyber Risk Singularity platform yet.
CTEM is the third domain that SAFE has transformed with an agentic-AI-first approach after CRQ and TPRM. “Each of these domains are critical building blocks in our singular pursuit: achieving CyberAGI,” Saket said.
Forrester named SAFE as the leader in its Cyber Risk Quantification Solutions Wave of Q2 2025, reaffirming its market dominance. Since launching TPRM in 2024, over 50% of SAFE’s customers have adopted the module.
With the addition of CTEM, SAFE’s Singularity platform now empowers security and risk leaders to prioritize and remediate both operational and strategic risks across first and third parties.
Investor Recognize Cybersecurity Is Now a Corporate Strategic Priority
Nishant Rao, Founding Partner at Avataar Ventures, said “Our investment philosophy is rooted in deep conviction around transformative market shifts—and few are as compelling as the opportunity in cybersecurity, especially in the age of AI…
“What makes SAFE stand out is its positioning – not as another detection tool, but as a strategic intelligence layer across the entire cybersecurity stack. Combine that with a stellar execution track record and consistent 120%+ YoY growth since their launch in 2020, partnering with Saket and his team was an easy decision.”
